How do I delete a post in WordPress

To delete a post in WordPress, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the WordPress Admin Dashboard Open your web browser and enter the URL of your WordPress website followed by "/wp-admin" (e.g., "www.example.com/wp-admin"). Enter your administrator username and password to log in. After successful login, you will be redirected to the WordPress admin dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to the Posts Section In the admin dashboard, locate the sidebar menu on the left-hand side. Find and hover over the "Posts" option. This will expand a submenu with options like "All Posts," "Add New," "Categories," and more.

Step 3: Select the Post to Delete From the expanded submenu under "Posts," click on "All Posts." You will be taken to a screen displaying all the posts on your website. Locate the post you want to delete and hover over its title. Several options will appear below the post title.

Step 4: Click on "Trash" From the options that appear below the post title, click on "Trash." This will move the post to the trash, and it will no longer be visible on your website.

Step 5: Permanently Delete the Post (Optional) By default, WordPress moves the post to the "Trash" where it can be restored if needed. However, if you want to permanently delete the post, you can do so by clicking on the "Trash" link in the top notification bar or by accessing the "Trash" section in the "Posts" menu. Once in the "Trash," you can select the post and click on the "Delete Permanently" button to remove it permanently from your website.

Note: If you accidentally delete a post, you can still recover it from the "Trash" within a limited time frame. To restore a post, go to the "Trash" section, select the post, and click on the "Restore" button.

Congratulations! You have successfully deleted a post in WordPress. Please exercise caution while deleting posts, as once they are permanently deleted, they cannot be easily recovered.
